Eating Pebble Soup
Shimon Askanazi was born in Greece in 1918. Like most young men, he had dreams and aspirations while growing up, his biggest was to go to medical and become a doctor like his father. There was however one major hurdle, Shimon was Jewish, and by 1941 the Nazis had full control of Greece and the "Final Solution" was in full force.
Eating Pebble Soup is the latest film in the Generation-to-Generation series. Shimon's journey is shared to us by his grand-daughter, Jennifer Askanazi Caplan.
